About the Project
The new construction of the 360,000 square foot, 650-room theme hotel on Universal Studios property features a 100,000 square foot lobby and public space and 12,000 square foot pool. Unique logistic considerations were taken into account on this project as it is located within the existing operating theme park. Special provisions for noise and traffic control were implemented to mitigate the impact on the guests experience.
Concrete framing was performed during off-hours, which was a challenge for the aggressive 24- month schedule. Since this project featured theme-specific elements unique to the hotel, the team worked closely with the Owner to manage cost. The project was completed on time with high complements from the operator.
